The Dying Mermaid of Madison Blue Springs is a site-specific solo performance exploring the body’s connection to water and plastics through improvising as the character The Dying Mermaid of Madison Blue Springs. This performance resists Nestle’s violation of permits that protect the local aquifers’ natural resources, and the environmental and economic impacts on the local communities of Lee, Florida activating Madison Blue Springs as a site for further discussion of the issue. The first performance was done as part of National Water Dance’s Zoom performance Miami National Water Dance in 2020.
